The vision behind SyMedica is rooted in the dedication and insight of our founder, Bob Coates. A seasoned healthcare executive with a national reputation, Bob has a distinguished career in developing cost-effective, compliant healthcare solutions. With a strong background in clinical and executive healthcare practice, he has provided invaluable guidance to diverse healthcare organizations, supporting their compliance with U.S. Healthcare Laws. Bob's expertise as a federally registered lobbyist, combined with his unique perspective on healthcare accountability and patient-centered care, has shaped SyMedica’s commitment to integrity and excellence.
In collaboration with Pulido-Coates Associates, SyMedica expanded its services to support pain management practices and compliance efforts, helping to implement protocols designed to improve patient outcomes. Our commitment to compliance excellence further led us to develop a formalized system that now defines the SyMedica approach: proactive, adaptive, and accessible fractional healthcare compliance.

Bobby L. Coates
Founder / Clinical Director
Bob Coates is a nationally recognized healthcare executive known for delivering compliant, cost-effective, and integrated healthcare solutions with a strong ROI. Since 1993, he has represented clients in compliance with U.S. Healthcare Laws, working across primary care, behavioral health, pain management, radiology, and community mental health. As a federally registered lobbyist, he provides healthcare and faith-based government relations services.
Licensed as a therapist and counselor in Tennessee, Virginia, and Florida, Bob has focused since 2007 on developing recovery programs and telemedicine for impaired healthcare professionals. He also reviews grants for SAMHSA and provides Continuing Education for healthcare professionals.
Bob holds degrees from Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, with clinical training from Baylor Medical Center and certification in Mind-Body Psychology from Harvard Medical School’s Benson-Henry Institute. He continues to practice as a psychotherapist in Virginia, Florida, and Tennessee.

Robert Coates is a seasoned healthcare executive with a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and more than 20 years of experience transforming organizational performance in the healthcare industry. Known for his visionary leadership, Coates specializes in developing high-impact corporate training and management development programs that leverage cutting-edge technologies to drive employee engagement and enhance skill-building across teams.
With deep expertise in human resources, strategic decision-making, change management, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution, Coates has a unique ability to build collaborative, resilient teams and foster strong organizational cultures. His commitment to leadership development is demonstrated through his six years as an adjunct professor at Belmont University and his master’s capstone project, where he crafted and implemented a management and leadership program for a large non-profit Little League organization. This program equipped managers with essential skills in conflict resolution, strategic thinking, and change management.
Passionate about integrating AI and emerging technologies, Coates continually advances healthcare practices by streamlining operations and enhancing the effectiveness of corporate training. His strategic insight, dedication to professional growth, and innovative approach to leadership make him a transformative force in healthcare and corporate training.
Laura Y. Pulido
Chief Clinical Officer / Vice President
Laura Pulido brings over 30 years of extensive experience in healthcare leadership, clinical practice, and patient advocacy to her role as Chief Clinical Officer at SyMedica. Driven by a passion for improving the lives of those in pain, Laura has spent the last decade focusing exclusively on advancing outcomes for pain patients. Her dedication led her to collaborate with SyMedica founder Bob Coates as co-author and developer of the Pain Patient Compliance Protocol and Scale (PPCP), a specialized protocol that delivers effective pain management while mitigating the risks of addictive behaviors.
Throughout her career, Laura has excelled in a broad spectrum of healthcare roles, spanning women’s health, pediatrics, cardiac care, and surgical practice. Her experience also includes significant contributions in corporate and clinical training, having served as a corporate trainer and adjunct faculty member at the University of Tampa, where she imparted her knowledge to the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Beyond her clinical and operational expertise, Laura has held roles in sales and quality assurance, contributing to disease management and pharmaceutical sales. Her breadth of knowledge in these areas enables her to bring a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to SyMedica’s mission of compliance and healthcare excellence.
A committed community servant, Laura volunteers with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and participates in international mission work in the Dominican Republic. Her dedication to both her profession and her community exemplifies the compassionate, patient-focused care that defines SyMedica’s values.
